Bodega Vineyard
Pinot Noir

Current Release - 2023
Steep, raw and powerful, this hillside monopole vineyard sits mere miles from the Pacific Ocean and represents our coolest and most exotic terroir. Facing Bodega Bay in between the coastal villages of Freestone and Occidental, the fog from the Pacific engulfs our vineyard each morning. This 1.8-acre site is the oldest meter-by-meter planting of pinot noir on the Sonoma Coast and, due to both its high density and steep slope, is farmed 100% by hand.
Morning mist, rose petals, ripe red cherries, and muddled blackberries fill the bowl. This is followed by notes of black tea, thyme, coastal fern and forest floor that transport us to the redwoods surrounding this site. On the palate, there is a beautiful ballet between wild blackberries, bramble, and wild thyme that is seamlessly intertwined with warm exotic spice box, zesty orange pith and crushed gravel, all giving way to a seemingly everlasting finish.

100 points James Suckling, 96 points Vinous
A brilliant, elegant, vivid wine with so much concentration, but so light, elegant and well balanced. Toasted almond, mineral and lemon curd aromas, then a creamy, layered texture backed by tangy acidity. Lemon pith, creme brulee, cheese rind, crisp pears, golden apples, minerals and kiwis on the palate. So long and lingering in the finish... - Jim Gordon (James Suckling)
"A superb wine, the 2023 Pinot Noir Bodega captures all the best the vintage had to offer. Seamless and elegant, the 2023 is an absolute delight. Blood orange, spice, mint, tobacco and dried flowers all build in the glass. The 100% stems are present but beautifully integrated. The 2023 is a superb wine for the year and for Raen. It has plenty of youthful, coastal energy, but is not quite as austere as the two other Pinots in the range. Stellar." - Antonio Galloni (Vinous)

Sea Field Vineyard
Pinot Noir

Current Release - 2023
From a rugged and remote pocket of Fort Ross-Seaview, this 4.8-acre monopole vineyard represents our most elegant terroir. The vines are rooted deeply in an ancient seabed that dates back more than 200 million years ago and soar high above the sea at over 1,000 feet in elevation. Mere miles from the ocean, this is our highest elevation and most coastal pinot noir bottling.
Rose petals, raspberry, purple flowers, and wild strawberry all fill the bowl, followed by notes of freshly picked wild raspberries, sea moss, and white tea. On the palate, ripe red berries persist, followed by blood orange pith, chamomile flower, and wet rock with a kiss of salinity, transporting us to the sea that sits just beyond our Sea Field vineyard. Violet floral notes and hints of crushed wild berries follow, elegantly leading into an incredibly long and vibrant finish.
100% whole cluster • natively fermented • 4.8 acres • bottled without fining

"This has great tension between the bold, dramatic fruit and mineral flavors and the chalky, firm and brightly crisp texture. Laced with layers of red and black cherries and vivid raspberries, with strawberries in the finish. All backed by nervy acidity and moderate tannins for a sense of tension and linearity." - Jim Gordon (James Suckling)

Royal St Robert
Pinot Noir

Current Release - 2023
Our Royal St. Robert bottling is dedicated to our grandfather Robert, who has been our greatest philosophical teacher on our journey in wine. This special cuvée is a selection from our coastal vineyards, giving a window into the rugged hills of the westerly Sonoma Coast.
The 2023 vintage leads with captivating aromas of crushed wild berries, black cherries, rose petals, and coastal moss. Continued floral notes, black tea, and bergamot follow, giving way to coastal fern and forest floor. The powerful red and black fruit core is delicately interlaced with the notes of flowers and tea and coupled with exotic spice box, are all seamlessly woven together in a persistently long and seemingly everlasting finish.

"An amazingly complex, dynamic wine that demands your attention from the first sniff to the lingering finish. Aromas of redwood forest, rosemary, purple flowers and black cherries, then black tea, pomegranate, dark cherry, dried raspberry and wild mushroom flavors. Fine-grained moderate tannins and crunchy acidity give it such a firm backbone. Drink now or hold." - Jim Gordon (James Suckling)

Charles Ranch Vineyard
Chardonnay

Current Release - 2023
This hillside site in rugged Fort Ross-Seaview sits at 1,200 feet in elevation, only a couple of miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and just up the road from our Sea Field estate. The vines, planted over 40 years ago, represent some of the oldest plantings of chardonnay on the Coast. Sitting atop well-drained, rocky soils, the yields are naturally low, giving wines of incredible depth, concentration and minerality.
The 2023 vintage leads with aromas of wet rock, fresh white flowers, chamomile blossom, and summer apricot. These aromas are followed by just-ripe white nectarine, lemon zest and a persistence of minerality with crushed seashells, wet rock, and a dash of sea salt. All of this comes together, transporting us to the site where these vines are rooted, giving way to a depth of flavors and aromas that provide a racy yet elegant finish.

"A brilliant, elegant, vivid wine with so much concentration, but so light, elegant and well balanced. Toasted almond, mineral and lemon curd aromas, then a creamy, layered texture backed by tangy acidity. Lemon pith, creme brulee, cheese rind, crisp pears, golden apples, minerals and kiwis on the palate. So long and lingering in the finish, yet light in alcohol at 12.5%. All barrel-fermented in 10% to 15% new oak, and it goes through full malolactic. Drink now or hold." - Jim Gordon (James Suckling)

Lady Marjorie
Chardonnay

Current Release - 2023
This bottling is dedicated to our grandmother Marjorie, who will always be a bright light of inspiration for us. An incredible woman, her hard work and steadfast determination led us to where we are today. Born from the remote, rugged landscape of the Sonoma Coast, our Lady Marjorie Chardonnay hails from the rocky soils of the true Sonoma Coast, resulting in a wine of incredible depth and vibrancy.
The wine fills the bowl with floral notes of lemon zest, crushed gravel, white and yellow flowers, honeysuckle and just-ripe nectarine. On the palate, these aromas come together with notes of zesty lime blossom and stone fruits, all integrated seamlessly with a bright backbone of wet rock minerality, and subtle notes of salinity that all lead to an incredibly bright and persistent finish.

"A light-bodied yet oh-so-full-flavored wine that opens with stony, floral aromas that lead to fresh and ripe fruit flavors backed by racy acidity. A great creamy texture but vivid in acid, minerals and chalk that lift the pear, citrus and white flower flavors. So elegant and lively, yet full of flavor and marked by a lingering finish. Drink or hold." - Jim Gordon (James Suckling)
