Bodega Vineyard

Pinot Noir

2023 Freestone Occidental Bodega Vineyard Pinot Noir
Current Release - 2024

This 1.8-acre site near Bodega Bay is the oldest meter-by-meter planting of Pinot Noir on the Sonoma Coast. Due to its steep slope and tight vine spacing, it is farmed entirely by hand, carrying forward traditions of care and dedication that few vineyards in the world require. Each year, the fog drifts in from the Pacific and blankets the vines, while the surrounding redwood forest shapes the character of this singular site.

The wine opens with aromas of rose petal, black cherry, strawberry, and jasmine blossoms, layered with orange pith and earthy forest floor. Exotic notes of mushroom and spice mingle with a deep core of dark fruit, bringing both power and finesse. On the palate, this interplay of red and black fruit is seamlessly tied to the site’s signature earthy character, carrying through to a finish that echoes the cool, wild beauty of the Sonoma Coast.

Sea Field Vineyard

Pinot Noir

2023 Fort Ross-Seaview Sea Field Vineyard Pinot Noir
Current Release - 2024

From the rugged and remote pockets of Fort Ross-Seaview, Sea Field represents our most elegant terroir. Vines sit atop an ancient seabed that soars above the Pacific at 1,000 feet of elevation, only miles from the ocean itself.

Delicate and fresh rose petal, orange pith, and white tea open the bouquet, unfolding into cherries, rose petals, orange pith, lychee, wet rock, and crushed raspberries. Coastal air brings more wild red fruits, ocean sea moss and a hint of salinity weave throughout. The frame and elegance are overtaken with fruit, flower and elements evoking the nearby, wild coast. The palate carries a vibrant clarity, with lingering notes of wild strawberries and coastal rock that extend into an incredibly long and refined finish.

Royal St Robert

Pinot Noir

2023 Sonoma Coast Royal St Robert Pinot Noir
Current Release - 2024

Our Royal St. Robert bottling is dedicated to our grandfather Robert, who has been our greatest teacher on our journey in wine. This special cuvée offers a window into the rugged hills of the westerly Sonoma Coast.

The wine opens to opulent aromas of rose petals, wild strawberry, savory herbs and the edge of a coastal forest nearing a springtime meadow. This is followed by red cherry, raspberry plum, blood orange marmalade, rose petals and thyme. Layers of coastal forest floor with mushroom laced foliage, rosemary, sea moss and ripe cherries add a unique depth and earthy character, while a vibrant core of red and black berries carry through the palate. The finish is lifted by spice and coastal freshness, leaving a long and youthful impression.

Charles Ranch Vineyard

Chardonnay

2023 Fort Ross-Seaview Charles Ranch Chardonnay
Current Release - 2024

This hillside site in rugged Fort Ross-Seaview sits at 1,200 feet in elevation, only a couple of miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and just up the road from Sea Field. Planted over 40 years ago, these vines represent some of the oldest Chardonnay plantings on the coast.

Aromas of white flowers, lemon pith, and just-ripe white summer peach rise from the glass, carried by the imprint of wet grey rock, fragrant honeysuckle, and a subtle touch of lightly baked brioche. The palate unfolds with notes of barely ripe nectarine, citrus blossom, and minerality, capturing both the raw power and elegance of this windswept site. With a round and textural palate, the wine's depth, length, and precision ends with racy, crystalline finish.

Lady Marjorie

Chardonnay

2023 Sonoma Coast Lady Marjorie Chardonnay
Current Release - 2024

This bottling is dedicated to our grandmother Marjorie, who has always been a guiding light and inspiration for us. From the remote, rocky soils of the Sonoma Coast, this wine shines with depth and vibrancy.

Lively aromas of lemon pith, key lime, honeysuckle blossom, and summer-ripened nectarine jump from the glass, followed by crushed wet rock and distinct mineral tones that transport us to the coast where the vines are rooted. Bright citrus, stone fruit and beeswax are beautifully intertwined on the palate, reminding us of the pollinators that come alive in our vineyard, leading to a vibrant, zesty finish that balances richness and precision.

Pacific Rock Vineyard

Pinot Noir

Current Release - 2024

At RAEN, we have sought out what we regard as California’s grand cru sites, each offering its own unique expression of the Sonoma Coast. With the inaugural release of Pacific Rock, we are grateful to now include this vineyard alongside our other single-vineyard expressions, each a reflection of the true Sonoma Coast, its unique geologies, microflora, and microclimates woven into our story.

At the entrance to the vineyard stands a sacred stone, honored for centuries by the native people. The story tells of a coastal maiden whose spirit endures in the stone, and to this day we pass and honor her presence with each visit. Rising high above the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard takes its name from this enduring presence and from the coastal cliffs that define it.
After more than two decades of searching for a site of grand cru potential, we are humbled to share the incredible legacy of Pacific Rock. Perched on dramatic coastal ridges, the vineyard benefits from persistent ocean winds that preserve freshness and natural acidity.

Aromas of boysenberry and rose petal open from the glass, giving way to blackberries, savory herbs, Black Doris plum and just-ripe black cherries. Subtle undertones of umami-rich mushroom, black tea, and ocean forest intertwine with strawberry and wet volcanic rock. A thread of coastal salinity lifts the finish, leaving a wine both powerful and graceful, rooted in history yet alive with the energy of the sea.

This inaugural release is adorned by the California Mountain Kingsnake, painted by our sister, Chiara, as a reminder of our reverence to nature and the sacred beauty in all species.
